One day I will understand that "I love you" doesn't necessarily mean "I love YOU".

Some people like to hear themselves say it, because they know it gives them immense power over another. It's "going nuclear", for lack of a better term.
I once had someone say it to me over and over, becasue I think they wanted to hear me say it back. When I realized I couldn't say it and mean it, I got out of the relationship.

Jesus, that sucks.
For what its worth, I love YOU.

I meant it in a different context that I don't feel like getting into, except to say that I'm in a difficult & low place. But, I can see the more obvious interpretation.
Thanks for the sympathy. And to my loyal readers: please forgive me if I choose to write posts but not publish them for public consumption for awhile. But, as much as I long to write, my work demands my attention right now and I have to pull myself together, fast.
To Mihow: you're my girl. Thank you. Many times over. Your support and perspective are invaluable.

You never need to thank me. Never. Ever. Ever.

People shouldn't throw that phrase around willy nilly. I'm sorry if someone did that to you. Want I should lay my awesome karate on them?
