It’s time for Listen Missy to go on a much, much needed hiatus. I realize I sort of do this all the time, but I think this time it’s going to be awhile. My reasons are several in number. I’ve been in a bit of a funk and I think I need some introspective time, some writing for myself. I also think it’s time to go and do some different things in the world, to get out of my usual routine. I’d like to spend more time reading; maybe I’ll join a book club or something. I should try my hand at choreography. I want to travel more on weekends.

Although I’m keeping the site up so I can continue to check out my favorite links, I’m turning off the comments again so I don’t have to constantly clean out the spam.

Thanks for understanding and especially for reading all the stuff I’ve felt like writing about.

Periodically I feel like I am getting dumber, so I decide to take a class. Today I settled upon a statistics class, one that is probably remedial but that apppears to cover material I’ve never actually formally gotten in my previous classwork. The upside is that it is a condensed class (5 weeks!) and it starts in a few weeks. The downside is that because it is a condensed class, I will be spending every Monday and Wednesday evening in a classroom for three hours apiece. I’ve already started a headache.

(I also printed off a listing of the Olympic gymnastics events so I can plan for the days I expect to have my VCR set. Yes, I am that much of a loser. And no, I am not getting Tivo.)

Before Sunset

Missy | July 2, 2004

I rushed out of work today to see Before Sunset (the nine-years-later follow-up to Before Sunrise) that, if you are in my age bracket (which means you were about 23 when they were 23, and are about 32 now) is quite possibly something you have been looking forward to as much as I have.

Before I begin, I must comment on the fact that, in a theater of about 12 women, there was one lone guy who ended up walking out about 20 minutes in. I cannot understand this, save for the snickering in my head over the possibility that he was thinking, “WTF is this? I came to see Fahrenheit 9/11! What theater am I in? Where am I?”

Continue reading the SPOILER-laden Before Sunset post…(btw, comments are back on, and I suggest reading the whole post before commenting, because it rambles, and then rambles some more)…..
